We were instructed by a client as a result of an accident which occurred onboard a flight to his holiday destination.   Whilst serving hot drinks during a turbulent period of the flight, an air hostess accidentally knocked a cup of hot coffee into our client’s lap, causing him significant burns and injuries.

The claim was pursued in line with the Montreal Convention which governs accidents which occur during international flights.

In this case it was for the Defendant to prove that they had not been negligent because of the way in which the relevant convention works.  They were not able to do so and liability was promptly admitted and damages agreed in the sum of £6,000.
