Tourists mysteriously die at Thai resort

cocktailA Norwegian and an American tourist mysteriously died within hours of each other at the Koh Phi Phi resort in Thailand.

Julie Michelle Bergheim, 22, from Norway, died on Monday 3 May at the Laleena guest house where, just a few hours earlier another guest, Amerian Jill St. Onge, 27, had also died.

Widow of salmonella victim calls on Tour Operators

planeThe widow of a holiday maker who died as a result of salmonella poisoning while staying at a hotel in Italy, has called for greater protection for tourists.

A coroner recorded a verdict of misadventure after Geofrey Appleyard, 71, died in 2008 after falling ill at the Grand Hotel in Lake Garda. The coroner said that Mr Appleyard had died from salmonella poisoning contracted at the hotel.
