Accident Abroad News: British tourist killed in Tenerife beach landslide
Monday, 02 November 2009 10:04

The Tenerife beach where a British holiday maker was killed by a landslide on Sunday November 1st had a landslide a month ago and had been cordoned off reports the Daily Telegraph's website.

The Foreign Office confirmed Marion O’Hara was killed along with a 34-year-old local after part of the cliff collapsed onto the beach at Playa de los Gigantes on the western coast of the island.

Local mayor, Juan Damian Gorrin, insisted that the stretch of beach where the collapse took place had warning buoys and signs alerting beach-users to the danger, but British tourists in the area told Sky News that  the only thing that had been in place was “a small piece of builders tape.”
